International Student Program Seeking a Local Coordinator

Heritage Student Foundation (HSF) needs a representative in the Greater Chicago area who will be the "face" of our International Student Enrichment Program (ISEP).

Local Coordinator (LC) position requires ongoing coordination of homestays and supervision of assigned international students and host families to ensure smooth program operation based on rules and standards established by the organization.

- The duties of the LC position entails finding host families for students who are already enrolled in a school nearby or for future students.
- These responsibilities include assisting the head office in strategically placing flyers and explaining the finer details of ISEP to local community members to better promote the homestay aspect of the program and to actively recruit suitable host families.
- LC periodically checks up on assigned students and host families and reports the status of each student’s homestay to the central office on a monthly basis by submitting a written monthly report.
- LC will help screen host candidates for students by meeting them in person to supplement the screening efforts of the head office.

Requirements and restrictions:
- Candidate is over 21 years of age.
- Chinese-speaking is highly preferred but not required.
- Candidate is easily accessible or can respond to emails and voicemail messages in a timely manner.
- Candidate must have a car, a valid driver's license, and be willing to commute at least 25 miles out from their place of residence.
- Candidate must be familiar with their area. We would prefer someone who has lived in the area for at least a year.
